Since "Friends" went off the air in 2004, Lisa Kudrow has stayed busy producing Showtime's "Web Therapy," TLC's "Who Do You Think You Are?," starring in "The Comeback" and denying the occasionally resurfacing rumor about a "Friends" reunion.

Kudrow's next move is a recurring role on the next season of ABC's hit drama "Scandal," where she'll play a politician opposite Kerry Washington's PR maven Olivia Pope. Showrunner Shonda Rimes won't say more, so we'll assume Kudrow's character is heavily tied into an important plot arc.

The 50-year-old actress will join Scott Foley, who started off with a recurring role and will return next season as a series regular.

"Scandal's" third season debuts October 3.
