Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Blue Ivy Carter is nearly as recognizable as her parents, so when Drake posted his latest album cover on Instagram last week, some fans wondered if he had given a shout out to one of America's most famous babies.

Drake set the record straight in an interview with MTV, telling the network that the baby on the album cover is supposed to be him as a child.

"It's a child version of myself staring at myself now. Sometimes when I try and think back on this journey, it's so hard to pinpoint all of these moments and it gets foggy," the 26-year-old Canadian rapper said.

"And what that album art is to me is, like, this is my most clean, concise thoughts from now, and my best recollection of then. That's really what that cover's about."

"Nothing Was the Same" drops September 24.
