Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Monica Bellucci and her husband Vincent Cassel are ending their 14-year marriage and are separated "by mutual agreement."

The couple met on the set of the 1996 film "L'appartement" and wed in 1999. They share two daughters: Deva, 8, and Léonie, 3.

Bellucci hinted at their marriage's demise in an April interview with Grazia magazine, saying that "We never know how long [our relationship] will last."

"Today, it works, but in a year...I don't know," Bellucci said. Her husband mentioned a potential rift for Closer magazine around the same time.

"My wife and me are very different animals. This is probably the key to our relationship after 18 years together...We don't seek other people's approval."

Bellucci said that the pair owns homes in London, Rome and Paris, and were thinking about buying another. But she also said that despite being together, they live very separate lives.
