Peter Jackson is enough of a "Doctor Who" fanboy that he's willing and eager to accept a Dalek -- the hateful mutant cyborgs hell-bent on exterminating non-Dalek life throughout the universe -- as payment for a temporary stint in the director's chair.
"Doctor Who" showrunner Steven Moffat said the famed director of "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" series was "serious" about getting his own real-life Dalek instead of a paycheck.
"He’s serious about it," Moffat told reporters at the Edinburgh AdLib show last week. "I was at the Hobbit premiere and he just wants a Dalek."
"That’s what he wants. We give him a Dalek and then he’ll direct an episode," Moffat continued.
Also on the table for Jackson's episode is a major location change. The new Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, could be heading for the other side of the world.
"I think he'd like to us to go to New Zealand. I think it's entirely possible," Moffat said.
