You can always count on MTV's annual Video Music Awards for crazy fashion, unexpected collaborations and enough unusual celebrity behavior for hours of water-cooler conversation.

Despite denials from both Joey Fatone and Lance Bass, the band's sudden appearance on Twitter Saturday seemed to back up claims that the late '90s boy band had reunited.

The much ballyhooed reunion lasted about 110 seconds before Timberlake went back to his own songs -- "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors."
