Dave Chappelle dressed up as Prince for the cover of Prince's new single

In the short time that Prince has been active on Twitter --under the handle of his group 3rd Eye Girl -- we've been treated to a smokey "selfie," and plenty of self-referential tweets about his own tweets. Prince's sudden appearance in the Twitterverse was greeted with excitement but surprise -- he once famously declared that the Internet "was over."

In keeping with that theme of self-awareness Friday, the 55-year-old singer used Twitter to preview the cover art for his new single, "Breakfast Can Wait," featuring Dave Chappelle dressed as Prince holding a plate of pancakes. The tweet also links to a snippet of the single.

Chappelle fans will remember that the 39-year-old comedian, who has his own complicated relationship with stardom and Internet fame, often impersonated the enigmatic performer in a recurring series of skits on his Comedy Central show.
