Aug. 16 (UPI) -- New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez's inner circle obtained and leaked some of the documents that implicated Milwaukee Brewers Ryan Braun and fellow Yankee Francisco Cervelli in the MLB's Biogenesis doping scandal.

The leak came just after the Miami New Times published documents in January detailing Rodriguez's own use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Braun and Cervelli's names were redacted from the Miami New Times documents, but Rodriguez's camp were able to obtain the original versions, which they leaked to Yahoo! Sports. The unredacted documents list Braun's name, along with a list including Rodriguez, Cervelli, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera and minor-leaguer Cesar Carrillo.

All of those players have since been suspended for PEDs.

Rodriguez's camp has carried out a message that A-Rod is being singled out by Major League Baseball. His lawyers have said that the MLB investigation of Rodriguez's relationship with Anthony Bosch and his Biogenesis clinic has been "abusive, and borderline illegal."

Rodriguez has been suspended from the league for 211 games, but the suspension is pending an arbitrator's ruling on evidence from the MLB that the league believes proves Rodriguez's usage of PEDs. A decision will most likely be handed down in November.

MLB Commissioner Bud Selig told owners Thursday that he was proud of how the Biogenesis investigation was handled, and said the right decision was made in regard to Rodriguez's suspension.

Rodriguez is one of 14 players suspended after involvement with the now-closed clinic, but every player but Braun was suspended for 50 games. Investigators believe that Rodriguez has used the drugs since 2010, which Rodriguez denied.
