Aug. 13 (UPI) -- MTV has put together a star-studded lineup for its 2013 Video Music Awards, with performances and appearances by Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Katy Perry.

Now, One Direction joins the lineup to present an award. The band is also nominated for a new VMA category called Best Song Of The Summer, with their hit "Best Song Ever." Voting begins Tuesday, so the public will have to determine whether the song lives up to its name.

Other nominees include Cyrus' "We Can't Stop," Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," Calvin Harris' "I Need Your Love," Selena Gomez's "Come & Get It," and Thicke's "Blurred Lines."
