Isn't this kind of thing for the cats?
Laddy, a 7-year-old border collie from Davenport, Iowa, disappeared from his home on Friday, only to be found two days later 10-feet above the ground in a neighbor's tree.
"I'd been hearing this dog barking, but I didn't want to be a complaining neighbor and, besides, my wife and I are dog lovers," Ron Stevenson told the Quad City Times. "When I was outside early Sunday, I heard a whining, and I knew something wasn't right. This time, it sounded in distress."
Stevenson said he called 911 about the dog, though authorities were skeptical of his story. By the time help arrived he'd already climbed the tree and gotten Laddy down himself, but not before snapping photos (which you can see here).
"I had taken a picture, thank goodness. I showed it to the police when they got there, of course. By then, I'm standing there with a dog I had reported being up a tree."
Laddy's owners, the Weeks family, said they were happy to have him back. Though they have no idea how he got up the tree, Cynthia Weeks described him as "fast" and "agile." Plus, he loves squirrels.
