Katherine Heigl is ready to come back to TV.

The 34-year-old actress, who became a household name by playing the role of "Izzie Stevens" in Shonda Rhimes' drama "Grey's Anatomy," is reportedly trying to come back to the small screen following the three years of unsuccessful films that ensued her leaving the ABC hit show.

Now, according to USA TODAY, Heigl is shopping around for networks -- NBC included -- to feature a new drama starring her and written by Alexi Hawley of "Body of Proof" and "Castle" fame. The show is expected to be a procedural drama.

Heigl left "Grey's" in January 2010 to reportedly spend more time with her daughter Naleigh, whom she adopted a few months earlier with husband Josh Kelley. In 2012 the actress asked Rhimes to bring her back to the show to revisit her character, but Izzie never came back.

Though her current (and untitled) show is still in the script stage, it is expected to be one of the main contenders for the 2014-2015 season.
