Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson's ex-wife, Evelyn Lozada, talked about the ending of her marriage on "Basketball Wives."
Lozada and Johnson divorced following a domestic violence incident. In the season five premiere, she spoke with her mother, Sylvia Ferrer, about what it was like to lose her husband and her late brother-in-law in the same week.
"It's just like the timing is crazy," Lozada said. "It's like two of my best friends just gone. Which feels [expletive] up. You know?
"Why is this happening to my life? That's my brother and then he dies right after the incident with me and Chad. Words can't even explain how dark I felt -- like, this can't be my life."
It has been nearly a year since the incident, when Johnson allegedly head-butted Lozada after she confronted him about a receipt for a box of condoms she found in his car. The couple had been married just three weeks.
She was treated for a laceration later that week. The same week, her brother in law Anthony Ochoa died after a long battle with cancer.
Ochoa was married to Lozada's sister, Sylvia. He walked her down the aisle when she wed Johnson in 2012.
