Powerball jackpot hits $400 million after winless weekend

Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Since nobody won Saturday's $300 million Powerball drawing -- 21, 24, 36, 42, and 45, with the Powerball 15 -- the jackpot swelled to $400 million on Sunday.

The next Powerball drawing will take place Wednesday. The lucky lottery player could claim home $230 million before taxes if they choose to take their winnings in a lump sum.

An 84-year-old widow won the largest-ever Powerball prize back in May -- $590.5 million.
