July 25 (UPI) -- It was a quiet week on the Billboard 200 chart, where Jay Z's "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" spent its second week at number one.

Coming in at No. 2, singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles debuted her fourth studio album, selling 68,000 copies in its first week.

"The Blessed Unrest" is the follow-up to Bareilles's 2010 "Kaleidescope Heart," which bowed at No. 1 with 90,000 copies sold.

Bareilles said the new album is something of a departure from her previous releases, a little less piano-heavy, a little more melancholy and a lot more personal.

She "took advice that was actually given to me a really long time ago about not being too precious about the choices you make," she said, about writing the album. "I’ve always been very autobiographical in the way that I write, but that can be dressed up a million different ways."

The singer points out the album's title comes from a quote from dancer and choreographer Martha Graham about the role of dissatisfaction in an artist's life and how instrumental disruption can be in the artistic process.

"Over the past year, as I’ve done a lot of personal work on facing my fears and making some pretty big life changes, it came to the forefront that that was going be something that I really needed to address and put my money where my mouth is, especially in terms of a song like “Brave” and that being my messaging that’s out right now," she said.

"I went through a big breakup, and separating from my band of 10 years. It was really tumultuous emotionally, but I guess it was comforting when I read that quote to think of that time as something that was divinely given, that there could be some sort of method in the madness of feeling so scattered and dissatisfied."

Bareilles said her next project will be a return to musical theater, writing her first musical: an adaptation of the Adrienne Shelly movie "Waitress" with Keri Russell.
