George H.W. Bush shaves head in solidarity with young cancer patient

Here's a heartwarming story to take you into the weekend.

President George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States, saw that members of his security detail had shaved their heads in support of a young leukemia patient named Patrick, and decided to shave his too.

Patrick is the 2-year-old son of Jon, part of the so-called Bush Protective Division of the Secret Service.

Bush posed for photos with Patrick that were later released by Bush's office. The 89-year-old former president, who lost his daughter Robin to leukemia in 1953, has donated money to a benefit raising money for Patrick's medical expenses.

Bush's actions received bipartisan praise from his successor, President Bill Clinton, as well as President Barack Obama's press secretary, Jay Carney.

"41, you look great. Love what you're doing," Clinton tweeted.

"Noted w/great admiration," Carney wrote.
