Karen Gillan reveals bald head, new movie role at Comic Con [VIDEO]

July 22 (UPI) -- Karen Gillan revealed she had {link:shaved off all her hair: "http://www.heatworld.com/Celeb-News/2013/07/Karen-Gillan-reveals-her-BALD-HEAD-Comic-Con-Eeek/",nw} during a press conference at Comic-Con in San Diego this past weekend.

The 25-year-old "Doctor Who" star made the revelation by taking off her wig in the middle of a Q&A session.

Gillan also announced that she'd be joining the star-studded cast of Marvel's upcoming movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" as super-villainess, Nebula.

According to {link:IMDb: "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2015381/",nw}, the film is about "a jet pilot [that] gets stranded in space, and must unite a diverse team of aliens to form a squad capable of defeating cosmic threats."

Other cast-members in "Guardians of the Galaxy" include Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Glenn Close, John C Reilly, Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana. The film is expected to premiere sometime in 2014.
