Derek Jeter has been put back on the Yankees' disabled list after only one appearance this season.
Jeter, 39, had been out all season with a broken left ankle until he returned for his first game July 11. In that game, the shortstop strained his right quadriceps.
The Yankees said they would reevaluate his injury after the All-Star break to see how his leg would heal, so Jeter missed a weekend series with the Minnesota Twins. His injury was bad enough for the team to put him on the 15-day disabled list and sign Brent Lillibridge.
Should he respond well to treatment, he will return to the team next weekend.
