News of the could-have-been affair came from a source close to the 52-year-old actor who told Us Weekly that Clooney "began pursuing Eva" after the two spent some time together at Soho House in Berlin in March.
"He told her that he was still with Stacy, but had plans to break up with her and was interested in being with Eva," the source said adding that the two "did not hook up."
Though the "Descendants" star allegedly "continued to pursue her with texts and calls" the source said Longoria was very clear from the beginning about not wanting to be involved with Clooney while he was still in a relationship.
In the end, the 38-year-old actress found love with former "Ready For Love" contestant Ernesto Arguello.
"She is now very happy with him," the source said of Longoria's new relationship and insisting that "George and Eva never hooked up."
As for the Oscar-winning actor, he ended up breaking up with Kiebler anyway. A different source told Us Weekly that before the split, the couple "hadn't had sex in months."
