English actor Benedict Cumberbatch is putting on an Australian accent and a silver wig to play Julian Assange, founder and editor-in chief of the news-leaking whistleblower website WikiLeaks in the upcoming film "The Fifth Estate."

German actor Daniel Brühl ("Inglourious Basterds") will play former WikiLeaks spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg.

The film is based in part on Domscheit-Berg's book "Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange and the World's Most Dangerous Website" and in part on "WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War on Secrecy" by British journalists David Leigh and Luke Harding.

"The Fifth Estate" is co-produced by Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks Studios, and will be released through Disney's Touchstone distribution label to U.S. theaters October 18.
