Dave Hester hit with $122K in legal fees

Dave Hester bit the hand that fed him, and now the former "Storage Wars" star will have to cough up thousands in legal fees.

Hester sued A&E and the reality show's producers Original Productions in December after he was fired from the show, claiming the competition was rigged.

A&E fired back with an anti-SLAPP motion, and the judge sided with the network, ruling the network could run its competitions any way it chose.

Hester was ordered to pay $122,692 in legal fees -- $96,735 to A&E and $25,957 to Original -- a reduction from the original request of the network and producer. The reduction came after Hester objected to A&E and Original's claims of staff and expenditures in the case.

The former reality star claimed the show's producers were planting items in the storage lockers and he was fired after complaining about it.

But really, he should have known better. Everyone knows that in reality television, reality is just a relative term.
