FX's crime drama, "The Bridge," which stars Diane Kruger and Demian Bichir as a cross-cultural detective duo investigating brutal murders occurring along the U.S.-Mexico border, debuted to decent ratings on Wednesday night, Deadline reported.

Based on a Danish-Swedish series of the same name, "The Bridge" pulled in 3.04 million viewers for its premiere, only slightly less than "The Americans" earned in the same time slot earlier this year.

“We could not be prouder of this amazing series which has garnered such incredible critical recognition,” FX CEO John Landgraf said in a statement. “[Producers] Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid have delivered a rich tapestry of intrigue and passion, and a story fraught with tension and suspense. And we’re so lucky to have Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger who so convincingly and appealingly embody their roles.”
