This summer, during Jason Kidd's first NBA game as coach, he got a technical foul. He shrugged it off because it happened during summer league.

Kidd applied the it's-just-summer-league logic to another game, this time against the Houston Rockets. During that game, when his team was down by 15, he decided to take a phone call.

It's OK, Coach Kidd. The team doesn't need a head coach all the time. And during the first season as a coach in the NBA, Kidd probably doesn't need the experience.
