"It was expected," O'Neal said during a news conference at Daytona International Speedway. "We've all been in L.A., and not a whole lot of people can handle being under the bright lights."
In the same conference, a reporter asked what O'Neal thought about Danica Patrick.
He kept his thoughts short: "Honestly? She's hot. Hey, tell her to call me," O'Neal said.
He wasn't so nice to Howard.
O'Neal has historically been hard on Howard, and he spared no comments this time, saying that playing for the Rockets was a no-risk move.
"I think it was a safe move for him to go to a little town like Houston. That's right, little town. I said it."
Howard announced the move on Friday after becoming a free agent July 1. He joins Rockets stars James Harden, Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin.
