Lauryn Hill reported to federal prison in Connecticut Monday to begin her three month sentence for tax evasion.

Officials told TMZ, that the former Fugees singer was booked into the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury at 11:15 a.m., a minimum security facility where the inmates live in barracks-style housing.

Hill, who was sentenced to prison in May for failing to pay nearly $2 million in taxes between 2005 and 2007, will reportedly be housed with the general population.

While pleading for leniency before her sentencing back in May, the 38-year-old singer claimed she failed to pay several years of taxes "when she withdrew from society at large due to what she perceived as manipulation and very real threats to herself and her family." She later pleaded guilty to three charges of failing to file federal income tax returns in June 2012.
