July 8 (UPI) -- Lamar Odom was reportedly reached out to by the Los Angeles Lakers in an effort to bring the basketball star back to the team after a two-year separation.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne broke the news in a tweet where she explained it was unclear how interested either Odom or the Lakers were about getting back together.

According to CBS Sports, Odom, 33, "spent the most productive" time of his career during his 7-year run with the Los Angeles team. He won two tittles with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010.

In 2011 Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks and later to the Los Angeles Clippers (the first NBA team he played for) in June 2012.
