Before he was an Oscar winner, Colin Firth sexed up Jane Austen with a wet T-shirt scene.

Fans of the BBC's 1995 "Pride and Prejudice" adaptation will no remember Mr. Darcy -- clad in a thin white Regency undershirt -- emerging from the muddy waters of his personal lake. Though the scene wasn't a part of Jane Austen's novel, it was voted the most memorable moment in British TV drama.

On Monday, Londonites noticed an unusual installation popping out of London's Serpentine Lake, a giant statue of Firth's Darcy. According to The Guardian, UKTV installed the fiberglass Mr. Darcy ahead of the launch of its new "Drama" channel.

Twitter users were astonished, excited and "terrified."
