Paula Deen announced Thursday she was splitting from her agent Barry Weiner after working with him for more than a decade. Deen's spokeswoman, Elana Weiss, broke the news in an email citing no reason for the split.
"Paula Deen has separated from her agent," Weiss wrote. "She and her family thank him for the tireless effort and dedication over the many years."
The celebrity chef has credited Weiner for being instrumental in getting her show "Paula Home's Cooking" on the Food Network in 2002. The breakup between the two comes to weeks after Deen admitted to using a racial slur in a May 17 deposition.
After her admission, Deen was fired from the Food Network, lost deals with Wal-Mart, J.C. Penney, Walgreens, Sears, Kmart and Target and was most recently dropped by her publisher.
