Shermain Miles' extensive record of arrests made her the subject of a lengthy Chicago Sun-Times profile back in April, in which reporter Stefano Espositio blamed the justice system for failing to "save Miles from herself or to help the communities she menaces."

Miles, 51, has been arrested 396 times for various offenses, from armed robbery to prostitution to public intoxication.

On Monday, the Sun-Times reported that Miles had finally been ordered to mental health and substance abuse treatment.

“All of us are reaching out to you and offering you, maybe for the first time in your life, a hand, OK?” Judge Peggy Chiampas told her as she accepted her plea deal. “But you’ve got to reach out and grab all of our hands as well.”

“I just want to thank you," Miles told Chiampas. “I’m not that person."
