The 28-year-old starlet filed a lawsuit against Jean-Claude Lattes claiming he exploited her likeness in "The First Thing We Look At," ("La première chose qu’on regarde") a French novel about a woman who falls in love with a garage-owner who believes she is "The Avengers" actress.
Later in the book, it is revealed that the woman is not really Johansson but a lookalike whose name is Jeanine Foucaprez.
Grégoire Delacourt, the author of the book, admitted he was thrown aback by the actress' reaction and denied the book was opportunistic.
“It’s a bit silly to say that if you talk about a person, the courts have to get involved. That’s quite sad,” he said.
Asked to send a message to Johansson, Delacourt simply said, "I love you."
