Powerball winner has still not claimed $590 million prize

Two weeks after being named the winner of a record Powerball jackpot, the ticket holder has yet to come forward to claim his or her $590 million prize.

The Inquisitr reports that the winning ticket was sold at a Publix in Zephyrhills, Fla., a town of 13,337 residents where everyone "knows each other," but no one seems to know who the alleged winner is.

A week after the winning number was announced officials asked people who purchased tickets at the supermarket to check their numbers again, but two weeks have passed and no one has come forward.

According to Powerball rules, the winner has 60 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize as a lump sum and 180 days to claim it in lifetime payments. If the winner doesn't come forward, the money will go to the state.
