"It's hard having a baby and having paparazzi follow you all around all the time," Duff told omg!,"I haven't had to explain it to my son yet, what's going on. For the most part they respect me and they respect my space, but it's tough to always be photographed."
Other than that the "Lizzy McGuire" star appears to be really happy with the changes brought on by the newest member of her family.
"I'm at a really fun stage right now," she says. "My son is 13 months, so we just celebrated his first birthday. He's running around everywhere. He knows what he wants and what he doesn't like and really has a personality now."
Besides being Luca's mom and Mike Comrie's wife, the 25-year-old also has time to keep active and work on projects she feels "are worth missing time" with her son.
Of her appearance in the season finale of "Two and Half Men," Duff explained that filming worked out perfectly with her mom schedule.
"I would get to go be with my son at the park and be finished by three o'clock in the afternoon," she said.
In addition to acting Duff plans on going back into the recording studio soon and is currently partnering with Johnson's Baby Cares, a program that delivers positive messages to mothers.
"It's all about giving moms the reassurance and the support and the confidence that they need," she said, later adding "I want to work on my music, but it's tough to be pulled away from Luca. Whatever I work on, I want it to be worth missing time with him."
