May 31 (UPI) -- Fox's "American Idol" is reportedly getting a full on makeover after judges Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Nicky Minaj leave the show now that the 12th season of the show has ended.

With the departure of three of the of the current judges, executives decided that it was a time for a makeover, The HuffPo reported.

Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe will allegedly be let go also as the franchise will attempt to revamp it's declining ratings. The rumored makeover might also feature themed nights, a tactic implemented by fellow reality television singing competition show "X Factor," in an effort to attract a younger demographic.

Rumors about 'Idol' bringing back Jennifer Lopez as a judge have flooded the internet in past weeks. There is no word on whether or not the show will keep the remaining current judge, country star Keith Urban.
