An 8-year-old girl called 911 Monday morning to report gunfire in her California home, and deputies arrived to find that 63-year-old Anthony Alvarez had shot his two adult daughters, and then himself.

Jennifer Kimble, 37, died from multiple gunshot wounds, reports KSFN-TV. She was the mother of three children in the home; two boys ages 13 and 11, and one girl, 8, who called 911 before dawn.

Kimble's sister Valerie Alvarez, 33, had at least one gunshot wound and was flown to a Fresno hospital in critical condition. Neighbors say she was disabled prior to the incident and uses a wheelchair.

Tulare County Sheriff's deputies say the three children were uninjured and are now safe with their father, who was working at the time of the incident.

Investigators are fairly certain the murder-suicide was carried out by Alvarez after he got into a disagreement with his daughter Jennifer.

Alvarez was a Vietnam veteran and neighbors are shocked this happened on Memorial Day. Neighbors say the family was planning to go to Disneyland with the children this week.
