Chris Brown was involved in a car accident last Tuesday after his Range Rover crashed into a Mercedes in Los Angeles. Though video shows the singer exchanging information with the other driver, TMZ reported Monday that Brown may have withheld information he was legally required to divulge.

"Chris Brown allegedly refused to give the driver he rear-ended his driver's license #. We're told he also gave the woman incorrect insurance info," TMZ said.

Brown could get up to four years in prison for violating the terms of his probation, if it's determined that the musician left the scene without providing correct details to the other driver.

But sources from Brown's camp later told TMZ that the 24-year-old did disclose the correct insurance information and had attempted to contact the driver of the other car. The sources also claimed that the woman hung up on his lawyer's attempts to contact her by phone.
