"American Idol's" Randy Jackson, known for interspersing his measured criticism with his favorite catchphrase, "Yo, dawg," will be leaving the hit Fox show after 12 years as judge.

After reports that "American Idol" would replace all four of this year's judges, including Jackson, Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, the 56-year-old musician and producer decided to address the rumors himself.

"Yo! Yo! Yo!" Jackson said in a statement.

To put all of the speculation to rest, after twelve years of judging on American Idol I have decided to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.
