CBS reports a lengthy suicide note with details about Castro's life -- including a confession to the kidnappings -- was found in in the home where the 52-year-old kept Amanda Berry, 27, Gina DeJesus, 23, and Michelle Knight, 32 prisoners.
In the note, which was discovered by FBI agents, Castro provides details about taking each victim and blames them for getting kidnapped.
"They are here against their will because they made a mistake of getting in a car with a total stranger," Castro wrote in the note according to Scott Taylor.
The kidnapper also noted that he was abused by his parents and raped by an uncle as a child.
Berry and her 6-year-old daughter and DeJesus returned to their homes Wednesday for the first time since Castro kidnapped them 10 years ago.
