An Arizona jury reached a verdict Wednesday afternoon in the trial of Jodi Arias, accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.

The verdict will be read at 4:30 p.m. Eastern:

Arias's trial has captured the attention of the nation as the defendant sat through weeks of sensational testimony detailing the sordid details of her sexual relationship with Alexander and his grisly death.

Arias has admitted to killing Alexander, but soon began to claim she did so in self-defense after he attacked her. He was found shot repeatedly, stabbed and nearly decapitated.
