Charlie Sheen went to court today with ex-wife Denise Richards to determine the best home for Sheen's children with ex-wife Brooke Mueller, according to Entertainment Weekly. Her representative told TMZ Mueller, 35, checked herself in to the treatment center for prescription drug abuse.
Sheen and Mueller have four-year-old twins. They were removed from Mueller's custody and on May 2 the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services declared Mueller's home unsafe because of her drug use.
Richards then took temporary custody of the children. Richards, Sheen and the twins appeared in court today so a judge could determine whether Richards could care for the twins.
The judge is "allowing Denise to keep the kids for now," according to TMZ. Sheen's lawyer was not permitted to comment on the case. Sheen left court giving a two thumbs up sign.
Mueller is likely to be transferred from rehab at the UCLA Medical Center to a residential treatment facility. For now, the twins will live with Richards and the two daughters she has with Sheen.
