Demi Lovato, who recently chopped off her long locks for a fresher, shorter hairstyle, has gone from brunette to blonde, judging by recent photos of her on the set of her music video and at an event in Washington, D.C.

The 20-year-old singer first hinted at the change in a Monday tweet:

And you can almost see the lighter streaks in recent Twitter photos from the shoot for her upcoming single, "Made in the U.S.A."

On Tuesday, Lovato was honored by the Substance Abuse and Services Administration for her work on young people with mental health challenges.

“Every young person faces challenges as they work toward becoming an independent adult, and for those with mental health challenges, it can be even more of a struggle,” she said. “I want those young adults to know that your life has meaning and you can reach out to someone you trust for support and overcome any challenges in your life.”
