Anne Hathaway has traded in her signature brunette look for a more dramatic blonde pixie cut inspired by Debbie Harry, US Weekly reported Monday.

The 30-year-old Oscar winner walked the red carpet of the 2013 Met Gala wearing a vintage Valentino dress from 1992, and sporting a head of bleach blonde hair.

Hathaway told Vogue.com that she had modeled her new 'do after the Blondie frontwoman.

"I don't know that you could tell it by looking at me, but Debbie Harry was [my inspiration]," Hathaway said.

This year's gala, called "Punk: Chaos to Couture," celebrated the fashion of the punk era.
