Kyle Busch started a pileup involving 16 vehicles when he hit the back of Kasey Kahne's car on the 42nd lap of Sunday's NASCAR race at Talladega Superspeedway.
"I was trying to go to the outside of him, but he just moved up in front of me and I wasn't expecting it," Busch later told USA Today.
"I just hate that I caused a hell of a melee for everybody. I hate that," he said.
Other drivers involved in the crash included Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick.
