Metallica rocks the National Anthem at Dodgers-Giants game [VIDEO]

May 5 (UPI) -- Metallica frontman James Hetfield and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett performed a Jimi Hendrix-inspired instrumental version of the National Anthem before the San Francisco Giants played the Los Angeles Dodgers at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Friday.

According to the Los Angeles Times, drummer Lars Ulrich also participated by throwing out the first pitch.

For comparison's sake, here's Hendrix's famous interpretation of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at Woodstock in 1969:
