May 2 (UPI) -- Comedian John Oliver is set to begin hosting "The Daily Show" June 10, while regular host Jon Stewart directs his first feature film, "Rosewater."

Based on the book "Then They Came For Me: A Family’s Story Of Love, Captivity And Survival" by BBC journalist Maziar Bahari, "Rosewater" is the story of his experience covering the 2009 Iranian presidential elections.

Bahari was sent to an Iranian prison for four months on suspicion that he was a spy, due in part to evidence of an appearance he made on "The Daily Show," in which correspondent Jason Jones appeared in a goofy spy outfit.

Oliver has been a regular on the Comedy Central late-night show since 2006.

Guests scheduled for the British comedian's first week as anchor include Seth Rogen, "Veep" co-creator Armando Iannucci, Mavis Staples and Fareed Zakaria, the Los Angeles Times reports. Oliver will sit behind the desk for eight weeks, though Stewart will be gone for 12.
