Prince William and Kate Middleton celebrated their second wedding anniversary with a modest private dinner on Friday, a complete 180 for a couple who spent $34 million on their wedding only two years prior.

According to Fashion & Style, with expenses like $800,000 worth of flowers, a $434,000 dress and an $11,000 band, The Duke of Cambridge's wedding was likely the most expensive in history.

Nevertheless, celebrating their second anniversary with a baby on the way called for a more intimate celebration.

A representative for St. James's Palace said, "I'm afraid we're not giving any details on their anniversary plans, as [they are] private." But according to UsWeekly the royal couple celebrated the big day in advance (on the 26 of April instead of the 29) anticipating that William would be away on the actual date performing his duties with the Royal Air Force.

According to a source, the royal couple grabbed a romantic dinner in London Friday and spent part of the weekend in Norfolk. The Duke of Cambridge returned to Anglesey, Wales on Sunday to resume his work as an RAF pilot.
