Allegedly 'Super drunk' principal caught on camera in Michigan

By KATE STANTON, UPI.com

Police arrested Deerfield Elementary School Principal Kim Warren earlier this month after 911 callers reported a driver swerving across the road and onto school property. In video obtained by local station WXYZ, the 44-year-old Warren sits in the back of a police vehicle and manages to slip off her handcuffs while chatting to the officer.

ABC News reported Tuesday that officials in Novi, Mich., have charged Warren under the city's so-called "Super drunk" ordinance, which deals with individuals driving at more than twice the legal limit. According to Novi Patch, Warren was arrested with a .21 blood alcohol level, well above the the .17 "Super drunk" marker.

Warren is currently on paid leave from her position at Deerfield, but Novi schools Superintendent Steve M. Matthews said the board will have to come to a decision about her employment at a May 16 meeting.

"The board [of education] will be asked to make a decision if she does not resign," he told Novi Patch.

Matthews previously told WXYZ that Warren's alleged drunk driving incident was "out of character" for her.
