Willie Nelson's Gandalf audition debuts on Conan, delights everyone

April 29 (UPI) -- If there's one thing any movie needs, it's more Willie Nelson.

Conan O'Brien got the 79-year-old country music legend and marijuana devotee to do a stoner version of J.R.R. Tolkien's wizened old wizard for a fake "Hobbit 2" audition video. Nelson's hilarious, slightly more paranoid ("That giant flaming eye is freaking me the f**k out!") interpretation of Gandalf is good enough to give Ian McKellen a run for his money.

“You can hire me and fire that Ian McKellen guy. He’s a good actor, but hell, I’m Willie Nelson," he says.
