Entertainment giant Disney World announced Thursday night that the company will keep three of its theme parks open for 24 hours on May 24 to kick off Memorial Day weekend and its "Monstruous Summer," according to WKMG in Orlando.

As part of the celebration, Spaceship Earth at Epcot has been turned into Mike Wazowski from "Monsters, Inc." and the upcoming "Monsters University." The character will be projected onto Epcot's trademark ride.

George Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World, said Disneyland and Disneyland Adventure Park in California will also stay open 24 hours. The parks' gates will open at 6 a.m. on May 24 and stay open until 6 a.m. the next day.
