The Rev. William F. Vatterott is alleged to have possessed at least two images of an unidentified nude boy on his computer between June 2010 and June 2011, according to a Wednesday indictment reported by St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The U.S. attorney’s office said Vatterott, 36, has been charged with one count of child pornography and could face up to ten years in prison.

Vatterott, ordained in 2003, became pastor of St. Cecilia Parish in 2008. He was placed on administrative leave as of June 29, 2011, after a complaint was filed with local police.

Two teenagers alleged incidents of inappropriate electronic correspondence. Vatterott was also accused of involvement in underage drinking and “other inappropriate behaviors," according to a statement Monsignor Richard Hanneke, vicar of priests, released at the time.

He added that "none of the reported complaints involved physical contact or solicitation of any sort."

In a statement Wednesday, the Archdiocese of St. Louis said it “has fully cooperated with the investigation conducted by law enforcement and the U.S. Attorney’s office.”
