Snoop Dogg has high praise for Miley Cyrus: 'One of the greatest musicians of all time'

Snoop Dogg, the 41-year-old artist who recently reinvented himself as reggae artist Snoop Lion, has kind words for Miley Cyrus, who is going through a transformation of her own.

"She's one of the greatest musicians and personalities of all time," he told MTV at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night. "People just expect so much from her because they've been watching her whole life from a kid. She's just ready to be an adult and have fun and express herself, and I support her."

In recent years, Cyrus has worked hard to shed her public persona as the adorable tween queen of Disney's "Hannah Montana," cutting her hair into a blonde pixie cut, getting tattoos and sporting more alternative styles.

Snoop told E! News that he saw himself in her transformation.

"We both believe in the same things," he said. "She's going through transformation and change right now, just like myself."

Snoop collaborated with the 20-year-old singer on their new track, "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks," off his upcoming album, "Reincarnated," which drops April 23.
