Boston College students host walk: 'We decide when our marathon ends'

Boston College students have organized a walk to honor those affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy Monday. The walk is called Boston Marathon: The Last 5, signifying the number of miles from the school's campus to Copley Square.

"For anyone who did not get to finish, For anyone who was injured, and For anyone who lost their life...we will walk. We will walk to show that we decide when our marathon ends."

Two explosions occurred within seconds of each other near the finish line of the 117th Boston Marathon on Monday, killing three and wounding well over 100 others. Authorities are still investigating the blasts, and there are no known suspects.

The walk will take place this Friday at 4:30 p.m. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Facebook event page for the walk had more than 12,000 attendees. Boston College students Dani Cole and Michael Padulsky created the event to "remember, honor, and stand up for all those affected" by the tragedy.
