A crash on the Florida Turnpike killed one person and injured 18 on Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Orlando Sentinel reports the incident was instigated by a van that overturned on the northbound Turnpike after a tire separation. It occurred near mile marker 204 in rural Kenansville in southern Osceola County at about 7:10 p.m.
The van driver, Willem Camille, 42, was severely injured, according to troopers. The van he was driving belonged to a nonprofit youth-organization group based in Miami named GSC Community Involvement Inc. and was traveling on a mission trip to Orlando with a church group.
Authorities identified the person killed as Merlande Chery, 46, of North Miami.
